Meet the Governors

Little Leigh Primary School Governors 2022 - 2023

Who are the members of the Local Academy Board?

Our Local Academy Board is committed to providing the best outcomes for the children at Little Leigh Primary School.

What do Local Academy Board members do?

The Local Academy Board members of Little Leigh Primary School have responsibility for the education of the children in our school; some of this responsibility of develoved from the Trust, other aspects are reported to the Trust. They work on a voluntary basis as critical friends to the Head of School and staff of the school to ensure progress and success for all of our pupils. The Local Academy Board, whose membership includes the Head of School, provides strategic leadership to the school and makes key decisions and recommendations to the Trust in areas such as finance, personnel and premises as well as monitoring educational performance.

Who are the members of the Local Academy Board?

Our Local Academy Board members are drawn from parents, staff and the community. This ensures that a wide range of views are brought to our meetings.

Our Chair of the Local Academy Board is Mrs Jaki King. She can be contacted at jking@littleleighprimarycheshire.sch.uk or by post to the school's address. She would be happy to hear from parents, staff or other stakeholders of the school about any school business.

Chair of Governors - Sue Swain (Co-opted Governor)

My name is Sue Swain and I have been a governor of Little Leigh School for twelve years.  I am married and have two children and four grandchildren.  My background is from the teaching profession; I have taught early years for the past 25 years, working in local schools as well as schools in Runcorn.  Some of you may know me from my role in Building Blocks Kindergarten which I opened 17 years ago; I am also involved in Little Leigh Pre-School and Little Leigh Out of School Club.

In my role as a governor of the school,  I am involved in teacher recruitment and reviewing the policies surrounding teacher’s appraisal.  My role as the Foundation Stage governor involves liaising with Mrs Taylor Wattam on all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage.  I really enjoy my role as a governor and am very proud of the achievements of our school.
